Beijing (JLC), April 15, 2019--Enn Group and Woodside Energy signed a long-term LNG purchase and sale framework agreement on the sidelines of the LNG2019 held in Shanghai in early April.

Under the contract, Woodside Energy will supply 1 million mt/year of LNG to Enn Group for ten years as from 2025. The final agreement is subject to approval by boards of both the two sides and Woodside Energy’s final investment decision on its Scarborough project.

Enn Group, as one of the country’s largest private clean energy distributors, has 187 city-gas projects in China, covering a population of 94.57 million. In 2018, Enn Group's natural gas sales exceeded 23.3 billion cubic meters, taking up 8% of the domestic market.

Enn Group’s Zhoushan LNG receiving terminal, China’s first large LNG terminal invested by a private company, was officially put into operation in 2018. Enn Group has been actively seeking for gas resources at home and abroad, in order to meet soaring downstream demand. It has signed a number of long-term and short-term LNG purchase and sales agreements with overseas suppliers, having initially formed an international procurement and trade network across the world.

China's natural gas consumption has been growing rapidly in recent years, reaching 280.3 billion cubic meters in 2018. It became the world's largest natural gas importer and the second largest LNG importer in the same year, with LNG imports hitting 54 million mt.
