First of all, I would like to explain why I start to write recommendation articles in English.
You can find plenty of articles about amazing Taiwanese restaurants and interesting places in Chinese by Taiwanese bloggers,
but how about the people who can't read Chinese but crazily desire to know where local Taiwanese go and what magic food they eat?
Me, as a truly local Taiwanese, would like to share with you my world-Taiwan. I can show you some secret and beautiful places that travel books don't show you.
Also some small food stands but sell incredible Taiwanese food that only local know. Follow me, and you will explore Taiwan deeper and have fun!

You definately can not miss out Beef noodles which is one of famous local food in Taiwan, and Taiwanese call it "Niurou mian" in Chinese.
Personally, I am a fan of Beef noodles, have tried a lot of it from different restaurants.
Xinjiang Noodle Restaurant is my favorite beef noodles restaurant in Banqiao, New Taipei City where also I live in.
The owners are kind ladies who always smile and loudly say: Welcom and have a sit!
From their accent, I think they are from China, so it makes sense they named it Xinjiang which is one of province in China.
The reason why I come here really often:
One- As mentioned, they are warm and kind, always call me: Hey beauty, come and eat. It always makes me happy. Ha.
Two- It's cheap comparing to another restaurants!
There- Big serving!!! If you are also a fan of beef noodles, you will be very satisfied here!
Four- OMG, delicious! Hand-made noodle and pastry for beef roll, tasty soup with tender beef.

My love: 番茄牛肉揪片面 (Tomato beef flour pearl dumplings) $75 NTD
With tomato, fungus and beef, maybe a bit sour, but I like it.
Cheap and big one, always back home with big tummy.
I am not gonna translate all of manu here, but I would like to recommend my favorite ones for you to try!
My Top 5 must-eat list:
1. 新疆牛肉Xinjiang Beef Noodle: This beef noodle is added with cumin, kind of spices, it's special favor, seldom found only here! In (拉面,面片,冬粉), means you can choose one of it as main starch (Ramen, flour pearl dumplings, green bean noodle). I personally recommend ramen and flour pearl dumplings coz they are ordered-and-made by hand.
2. 番茄红烧牛肉面Tomato Beef Noodle
3. 红烧牛肉面Beef Noodle: Basic one, the beginner may start from this!
4. 番茄牛肉揪片面 Tomato beef flour pearl dumplings : The beef is served different, this is with slices.
5. 牛肉卷饼Beef roll: The pastry is also hand-made and really crispy outside, tender inside with juicy beef. In (羊肉卷饼), means you can also choose (Lamb Roll).

1. Take MRT Blue line to Banqiao Station.
2. Go out from Exit 3.
3. When going out, you are on Section 1, Wenhua Rd., pls turn right and go straight.
4. Go 5 blocks and turning left to Hanshen W Rd., and just go straight then you will see it!
