根据英国《卫报》报导，尽管内马尔率领巴西2:0击败墨西哥，他在比赛中浮夸的假摔演技，连自家媒体都看不下去。巴西媒体《环球新闻》就表示，「内马尔征服了巴西但让世界感到厌烦」，传奇球星马拉度纳也表示，内马尔无疑是球星，但「缺少了点甚么」，暗示他的假摔实在太浮夸。
