This year we had 9 days-off on Lunar New Year, and we were so lucky because the weather was sunny . As a result, my family went sightseeing almost every day. We went sightseeing at Jimmy's Plaza, Mingchih Forest Recreation Area, National Center for Tradional Arts, and Ao-ti Fishing Harbor. They are famous scenery in Yilan attracting many tourists, even though the places are crowded especially in festivals, they are still visited.

 

 

 

In my hometown, the government holds a prayer ceremony on New Year's Eve. This year, the activity was located in new plaza, because one new entertainment is coming soon. It was the best choice to attract tourists. In recent years, the Yilan Government used the famous illustrator Jimmy's creations to reconstruct the city to be appealing and captivating. And this time they reused an old bus station at the amusement park I saw children played slides again and again, so I thought it would be much more popular once the park is open.

  

Mingchih Forest Recreation Area is located in Datong Township, far away from the downtown. After New Year's Eve, we drove about two hours to arrive there. The characteristic of the area is that there is a beautiful lake where tourists can walk around. Besides, a street musician played an instrument near the lake, and a black goose and some ducks swam in it. When the cherry blossom starts to bloom, the lake will be covered with more pink colors, and then it will be amazing. Some people liked to sit down and appreciate the scenery quietly, and some of them couldn't wait to take pictures with their smartphones and shared them with their friends.

 

  

The National Center for Traditonal Artsnear Don gshan River Water Park is located in Wujie Township. It was built with traditional architecture and ancient streets. When the red lanterns were hung up, they filled the Lunar New Year's atmosphere with prosperous celebration. That is the reason why tourists visit the county . In addition, you can find some interesting, ancient toys and native foods here. The best part for us is if you live in Yilan, you can come for free, so my family saves NT$600.

 

  

Finally, my sister and I went to Ao-ti Fishing Harbor where my father works. Originally, my dad suggested us that we should take a train, but my sister thought that riding a motorcycle would be more convenient. Before we went, our parents didn't know our plan. Then, we spent two hours riding, and when we arrived there, my dad said“are you crazy?” However, I thought it was worth taking a risk because of the wonderful scenery along the coastal highway.

 

  

Thanks to the sunny days, my family and I could go outside together and wandered around the whole city. Yilan is so beautiful that it is fine not to go far away to look for beautiful nature. Tomorrow I have to work, and at this moment, I am very happy and energized. That is why the Lunar New Year is the most important festival in Chinese culture.
