  Introduction to the Gold Coin Collection of the Three-Year One-Yuan Signature Edition of the Republic of China;

  Yuan Datou was one of the major currencies in circulation during the Republic of China, and " Yuan Datou" is the colloquial name for Yuan Shikai's image series of coins. Strictly speaking, it is called " Yuan Shikai's image carries Jiahe silver coins". In order to rectify the currency system, Beiyang government unified a silver coin. in February of the third year of the Republic of China (1914), it promulgated 13 articles of the national currency regulations and decided to implement the silver standard system. The National Coin Regulations stipulate that:'' The unit with the price of six quarters and eight cents of Kuping sterling silver is named as the round'','' A round silver coin, with a total weight of seven cents and two cents, silver 89, copper 11'','' A round silver coin is unlimited in number'', that is, a round silver coin is used as the standard loan currency for unlimited repayment. According to this regulation, in December 1914 and February 1915, the Mint General Factory and Jiangnan Mint respectively started casting a round silver coin with Yuan Shikai's head engraved on the coin surface, commonly known as " Yuan Tou coin" or " Yuan Datou".

  The three-year signed edition of Yuan Datou Republic of China is a prototype coin coined by the former Tianjin Mint. The most prominent feature of the coin is that the front of the coin, yuan Shikai's head, has the words " L.GIORGI" or the abbreviation " l g" on the right, which is the initials of the engraver " rurgi George" commonly known as the big head of the signature.
