SCI返修來不及潤色，給編輯發郵件延期，沒有回復，需要按時返稿么？

情況是這樣的，前陣子投了個文章，給了大修，主要是加實驗，其中一個審稿人提了一句要潤色，現在實驗加完了，文章我自己也改好了，但實在來不及潤色(12月28號就要返稿)。。22號給編輯部發郵件想延期兩周。。可能因為聖誕假期的原因都沒回復。。現在馬上要返稿了，請問各位前輩，這種情況還要按時返稿么？返稿的話要怎麼在Response中解釋沒潤色呢？
以下是我以防萬一自己扯的理由：
「Response: We are truly sorry to tell you that we did not submit the polished manuscript during this revision process. We employed an English-language editing service to polish our wording. Due to the Christmas holiday in December 2020, the polished version of our manuscript is delayed and can not be returned on time. Therefore, we will be grateful if you could give us more time, to polish our manuscript more appropriately. We will attach our certification of polishment in our next revision.

Once again, we are genuinely sorry about this situation. We are looking forward to a second chance.」
不知道這樣合適么。。

沒事的，再追一封強調一下，對方可能也在休假

每天編輯對接的郵件很多，不一定每封郵件都能及時查閱

最好還是按時返稿吧

不知道你文章語言到底寫成什麼樣。需要大改還是小改。

另外不同期刊對語言的要求差異挺大，有的要求並不高，但基本的語法和拼寫錯誤要避免。

可以自己認真修改一下。或者找人。潤色不一定非得找機構潤色，很多機構潤色挺爛的。

可以在追加一封，然後耐心等待回復即可。

再回復一封郵件說明一下比較好，邊潤色邊等期刊回復吧

在發一個，一個編輯對接的太多了，存在忘了情況
