常常收到許多學生困擾著如何寫一篇英文作文 

其實不止學測指考會考、全民英檢、雅思、托福也會出現類似個人選擇的題型

今天來教大家怎樣利用五個步驟寫出一篇像樣的英文作文

以個人選擇(有人喜歡....;有人喜歡...,你喜歡什麼?)的題型來示範

題目:有些人喜歡獨自研究功課,另一些人喜歡與一群人一起唸書。

你喜歡怎麼做呢?請寫一篇作文,第一段根據你的觀察說明你選擇的讀書方式為哪一種

第二段則就你的選擇和經驗,具體說明這種方式的好處。

 

 

 第一步:構思想法、快速列出兩選項的優點,再決定要寫哪個 

獨自唸書優點: 

1. 安靜、不受打擾

2. 可以按造自己的進度、時間

3. 比較有效率

經驗:

曾經試過一起唸書,結果不好,還是適合自己念

 

一群人一起唸書優點:

1. 可以討論、有問題立即有人回應

2. 可以分配不同部分,進而了解自己不足的地方

3. 互相激勵

經驗:

每次都跟大家一起唸書,過程很歡樂,有問題也有人能解決,從中發展教人的天份

或是 曾經試過自己念書,發現效率差,無法達到目標,組了讀書會之後,進步很多

 

 

 第二步:寫大綱、起承轉合

開頭: 有人喜歡自己念,而我喜歡和大家一起

Some people prefer A while I like B ...

Some people enjoy A; however, In my opinion, S + V

 

承:解釋原因1並給例子,解釋原因2

 

The first reason is that ....

For example, S + V

Furthermore, S + V

 

個人經驗(講過去自己唸書失敗):怎樣念都念不好,分數衝不上去

In my experience, ....

As I remember ...

When I was ..., I ...

轉:一起唸書之後的轉變

However, ...

合:一起唸書比較適合自己

In short, ...

 第三步:建立 keywords 表

打擾、干擾:distract, disturb, interfere

專注: concentrate on, focus on, stay focused, be immersed in sth

按造自己進度:arrange one's schedule

效率:efficiency

有生產力:productive

組讀書團:form/ organize a studying group

討論: discuss

激勵: inspire

 

 

 第四步:下筆

先寫一兩句簡短的開頭(introduction)並說明自己的選擇(選一群人):

Some people prefer studying alone, for it’s quiet and they can design their own studying plan that suits them best.

As for me, I favor brainstorming with my companions.

解釋原因(可以討論): The first reason is that it is more efficient for me as I can discuss the questions with each other

and everybody can come up with a variety of opinions, which makes studying less boring but more pleasurable.

舉例: If I study by myself, I will not have partners to consult with.

解釋原因(可分配工作):Secondly, we can form a studying group and each of us can be responsible for different parts that they are best at.

Thus, when gathering together, all members will help give a short summary and key points of the part they are in charge of;

說明好處:by doing so, it helps reinforce my impression and improve efficiency.

Also, I can find my shortage because sometimes it’s hard for a person to see his blind spots if always going alone

 

 

個人經驗(講過去自己唸書失敗): In my experience, I used to study alone and I always ranked tenth in our class.

I could not improve no matter how hard I tried.

轉(加入讀書會之後):However, one day, one of my friends invited me to join their study group.

Every day, after the class, we discussed things which teachers had taught in the classes and I could get profits during the discussion. 

承接劇情:Two months later, I improved a lot, getting the fifth in my class.

Also, not only did my teachers but also my classmates feel surprised.

合:In short, after beginning studying with classmates, I realized that studying with a group was more suitable for me.

 

 

 第五步:檢查

1. 時態:發生在過去的事實一率用過去簡單式(S + Ved)、

強調當下的動作則使用過去進行式(S + was/were + Ving)

用來比較比過去再更過去的用過去完成式(S + had + p.p.)

2. 主詞動詞是否一致

3. 是否出現過多贅字、或是自打臉的情況(例如一下講自己念好,一下又說一群人也不錯)

4. 避免使用重複的字(換句話說)

5. 變換句型:使用倒裝句來強調

Not only did my teachers but also my classmates feel surprised.

形容詞子句:who/that/which 所帶出來不完整的子句,放在要修飾的名詞後面(可作分詞構句)

副詞子句:由形容詞所帶出來,修飾主要句子的子句(可作分詞構句)

名詞子句:由 that/wh-/whether/if 是否 帶出來作為名詞的子句(當一個句子的主詞或受詞)

 

 

同學在自己練習寫作的時候,最好還是要找人幫忙批改跟看

這樣才有辦法練到自己看不見得盲點
