代數幾何是研究代數簇，概型的一門專門學科，不是代數學，或者（笛卡爾意義下的）解析幾何。

原題主學弦論才開始學代數幾何，故有此問始作俑者（參考幾何分析和量子場論姊妹問題）。竊以為知乎是分享體驗、一窺因生而有涯不曾了解之世界的地方。誰想引出幾何分析下面戾氣如此重的高票答案。 我們擱這圖個樂子，抱歉打攪有些人在知乎學數學了～

Its easy to learn some algebraic geometry, and I always start the topic with some interesting examples:

  1. How to compute the cohomology of P^2 blowing up along some points (the points may not be of general position), why the complex picture makes life easier.
  2. The story of elliptic curves and arithmetic
  3. How to explain Bézouts theorem to high school students
  4. Why any smooth cubic surface in P^3 contains 27 lines, and how to find them in some cases.
  5. How to understand notions like tangent spaces, smoothness, the genus of algebraic curves intuitively
  6. The story of Du Val singularity and ADE diagrams, as well as some basic representation theory of finite groups
  7. How to construct interesting varieties with lots of (rational) points

Its always fun to share my understanding with others, especially people who also know some algebraic geometry. We can replace algebraic geometry with other interesting things, and the answer is always the same —— its fun to do something together.

However, its hard to find someone who shares many common interests with you. I believe it will be a very good experience.

We can talk about concrete business in life, as well as things in our dream. You can tell me something I dont know, and I can also share fun things with you. Besides mathematics, there will be many good things in our life.

謝女友大大@黃小鶴邀請，先簡單介紹吧，本人男，在米帝攻讀物理PhD，女友在美帝攻讀數學PhD。由於本人不搞弦論，所以對代數幾何本身不了解，就把題主的問題轉換成: 有一個數學專業博士在讀的女朋友是一種怎樣的體驗。最大的感受無非就是我倆不可能沒有話題聊下去，不會像一些情侶找不到話題。對於我倆來講，可以說討論一下午微分幾何和廣義相對論收穫的快感和去看一場好萊塢大片相比相差不大。還有值得開心的就是每每帶女友來見我物理系小夥伴的時候，都充滿了驕傲，學物理的小夥伴自然懂。同時，如果有任何物理上要用到的數學，女友就是包打聽。最逗樂的就是和女友討論一些我可以理解的數學問題的時候，經常比賽誰的方法更有意義。比如有一次矩陣證明，還記得我用了分塊對角化，直到現在還在女友面前得瑟這件事。

我想我是貴乎為數不多的符合題干要求的人：有一個懂代數幾何的女朋友。

現在正在和女朋友一起學代數幾何，她學完了Huybrechts那本 Complex Geometry，我還差兩章沒看完。。。Hartshone的那本書她看的也比我好，現在我們剛剛學到Divisor，基本上算是有了代數幾何入門思想了。

可以討論代數幾何問題這種顯而易見的好處就不說了。我覺得最大的好處就是，女生學了代數幾何之後會增加一種蜜汁魅力，簡直著迷。
