許多人一定聽過The Saints(When The Saints Go Marchin' In)聖者的行進，這首歌曲是在1896年由James Milton Black所譜曲，Katharine E. Nash Purvis填詞而成。

原本它是在葬禮上使用的，當將棺木送到墓地時，速度通常會較為緩慢，但從墓地回家的路上，就會變成一首歡快的詩歌，就像是為了這位離開世界的朋友能在天上與主相會，脫離苦難而高興。

1936年Louis Armstrong首次重新演繹得好極了，他的演唱版本是我最愛的版本。歌詞不用太管它，Louis Armstrong隨興慣了，會自己邊唱邊改。

爾後還有幾組藝人也曾翻唱過，包括貓王Elvis Presley，收錄在2010年新推出的音樂劇Million Dollar Quartet之中。另外Beatles在1970年的In The Beginning專輯也有這歌曲的出現，同時也是電影[新岳父大人之三喜臨門]的插曲。

至於翻唱的版本來自於1986年蔡咪咪羣星會32集，裡面的一首「我愛爸爸媽媽」。
百多年前的曲子，至今聽來仍舊過癮～果真驗證一句話：「昨日的流行，今日的經典啊！」
