complain = make a complaint？？？！！！（考官很生氣，後果很嚴重
前言
這是一條插播！
前幾天，一個蘇格蘭朋友給我發了一條信息：May I make a suggestion for your next post…
當時的我，心突然一緊，腦中彈幕開始發射：
我哪個詞寫錯了？
我哪個意思寫錯了？
是排版不清楚嗎？
……
但是，我還是從容地回了：yes（都是好奇心的錯
結果，那個suggestion是，下一條推送麻煩寫 complain 和 make a complaint 的區別！！！
哈哈哈……我的心歘（chua）地就落下了！Of course! Why not!
直接劃重點：
to complain，主要是「抱怨，埋怨，發牢騷」；在表示「投訴」的意思時，程度沒有那麼高，頂多像是「提提意見」的投訴，或者就是生氣發牢騷時的口頭禪「我投訴你！」，但說完就完了，不一定會有什麼實際的行動，或希望有具體的結果。
to make a complaint，在表示「投訴」時，可跟complain不在一個段位。當你make a complaint的時候，遇到的是比較嚴重的問題，且你投訴的目的是希望問題得到解決，是要求有處理結果的！所以，to make a complaint是非常嚴肅、認真、也可能是書面的正式投訴。
一句話記住二者的區別：
You can complain about the weather but you cant make a complaint about the weather.
再舉一個栗子：
You can complain to the receptionist in the hotel if your room is not clean, but you could also ask to speak to the manager and make a complaint about this matter.
