美國留學申請之政治學專業
政治學（Political Science 或 Politics）是一門以研究政治行為、政治體制以及政治相關領域為主的社會科學學科，它涉及國家(政府)、政黨、權力、政策、統治、管理和價值分配一類的主題。美國大學政治學專業一般分為如下幾類：American Politics美國政治學，Comparative Politics比較政治學，International Politics國際政治學，Political Theory政治學理論，Political Methodology政治學方法論。
在院校方面，據2017USNEWS美國政治學專業研究生院校排名可知，哈佛大學、斯坦福大學、普林斯頓大學、加州大學伯克利分校、密歇根大學安娜堡分校、耶魯大學、哥倫比亞大學、杜克大學、麻省理工學院、加州大學聖地亞哥分校、北卡羅來納大學教堂山分校、紐約大學、加州大學洛杉磯分校、芝加哥大學、俄亥俄州立大學、威斯康星大學麥迪遜分校、加州大學戴維斯分校、羅徹斯特大學、康奈爾大學、賓夕法尼亞大學、德克薩斯大學奧斯汀分校、聖路易斯華盛頓大學、西北大學等都是不選的選擇。不過，美國大學提供政治學碩士學位的學校較少，大部分學校是博士學位。如果想要申請碩士學位，小夥伴們可以考慮MPP、MPA等學位。
在申請要求方面，GPA一般要求不低於3.0，申請名校最好是有3.5+；對語言要求較高，托福最好在100以上；GRE成績有320+。政治學專業的申請對學生的科研能力和專業背景要求很高，優秀的寫作能力和一定的實際工作經歷也是非常重要的。申請政治學方向需要有比較好的分析能力和社會閱歷，不論是Writing Sample還是文書當中，都要突出自己的個性與品格，體現出較高的社會責任感和良好的職業道德。
