Shabby Chic French Provincial Desk or Makeup Vanity Suitable for Every Lady

BEFORE

This small desk or it can be easily reassigned as a makeup vanity with its French Provincial curving characteristics on the table top and below drawers; as well the several straight-line carvings on the front and sides, and three of the most classic and elegant Queen Anne legs to emphasize on the traditional but timeless style.

AFTER

It was painted with Rust-Oleum Chalked Ultra Matte Paint Blush Pink color; the delicate color finish was then protected with van Gogh Fossil Paint Clear Natural Beeswax, and to provide the consistency of the vintage style of this desk, a layer of French Caffeine (dark) Natural Beeswax was applied to create a bit of the weathered look. 

Curving and carving details on the table top, along drawers, and on the sides of the legs were highlighted with metallic acrylic craft paint Bright Gold color to show off how glamorous and dazzling this desk is. 

Original hardware was spray painted with Rust-Oleum Specialty Metallic Paint Rose Gold color as base and then Gold color to cover.

To complete the vintage weathered look, all drawer pulls were lightly distressed to reveal rose gold color underneath and to tone down the shininess of the gold color. 

All sides of four drawers were painted with van Gogh Fossil Paint Chalk (antique white) and Patina (greenish blue) color.

Different patterns such as vertical lines, horizontal lines or circles, were created for all drawer sides for the purpose of adding a bit of fun personalities and surprises to such a classic desk.
