The bed was very comfortable at the glass igloo. I had a very good sleep.
The manager showed us the log cabins area after enjoying the beautiful breakfast. It’s also very popular in Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. There are two sizes of the log cabins. There's plenty of room here.

All the people were looking forward to meet the boss today. Especially I’d like to meet him since I have heard about him at MATKA. The manager arranged a meeting with him after the lunch.
Finally we met him in this meeting on the second day. He was so friendly and humorous. He brought the house plan of the new accommodation and introduced us the feature. Everyone discussed with passion in this meeting. We were the first PR group to see the secret data and know the news. I was so glad that I could attend this global meeting. I was the only one from Asia. I think I was kind of the Asian represent in this meeting.
I admire the boss. He was full of the passion and creation. Especially I was really curios how him get the idea to build the glass igloo. I asked him this question. He answered that he got the idea from the Asian tourists. He saw so many Asian tourists wore a lot of clothes but still shaking in the cold night few hours waiting for the Northern Lights. After all most of Asian people unusual to be used to under the 10 degree in the winter.
He was thinking if I could build a room where people can see the Northern lights without suffer in the very cold weather and enjoy the warm temperature. It sounds like a dream at this moment. Fortunately he made it and the glass igloo became the one of the most fantastic rooms in the world. Imagine lying comfortably in a warm bed gazing at the starry sky and the Northern Lights. It’s so amazing, isn’t it? That’s why it’s really popular in the world and hard to book a room in the high season.
We were talking about many Asian people have the special feelings to the Northern Lights. I didn’t deny it. It’s not everyone come to Lapland has the chance to see the Northern Lights. You really must be lucky enough. Japanese believe that the woman will have a boy if the woman pregnant in the Northern Lights night.
The boss gave us the gifts was a good way to end the meeting. The gift was a little sample of the glass igloo. There is a switch in the bottom. I’ve seen this gift at MATKA. It’s delicate and meaningful. It always reminds me of the beautiful memory in Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. I was the first one to get gift from the boss. I felt I was so lucky. It was a little pity I didn’t have chance to take a photo with the boss. He was too busy.

The main point from the meeting was the Kelo-Glass Igloo. The launch of a totally new accommodation this year. The Kelo-Glass Igloo combines the comforting warmth of cozy log cabins with the sensational views of the world-famous glass igloos. Here will be ready to receive visitors in November 2015. It will be the top accommodation in Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. All feature a private sauna, fireplace, kitchenette, and a bedroom with a stunning glass roof. Kelo is a special type of pinewood found only in Lapland. That’s why this accommodation called Kelo-Glass Igloo.

Somethings you should know before you book the Kelo-Glass Igloo.
1. Minimum 2 nights stay.
2. Room rate includes breakfast only, dinners mentioned above are mandatory.
3. Daily cleaning is not included in the room rate. It could be arranged with additional charge at €13 per person per night, please reserve in advance.
4. It is equipped with bathroom, sauna and fireplace, there are 3-5 pieces of firewood with matches for you to start with, extra firewood is at €13 per box (self-service for collection, please pay at reception).
5. Christmas Program package applies from 23.12.15 to 26.12.15, it is a 3-night package including 2-way airport transfer from Ivalo Airport, 3 nights stay in the same cabin, 2 normal half board dinners and the festive program on the Christmas Eve with a buffet dinner and Santa’s Home Visit.
6. Special rate is available for guests who stay for 7 nights or more, please contact us for more information.
7. We could put the 2 single beds in Glass igloo bedroom into double bed upon request.
8. Please do not touch the glass, pour water or throw any objects to the glass roof.
9. CHANGING ROOM. Check-out time is at 10:00. Please vacate your room before 10:00, you could leave your luggage in the luggage room before checking in to the new room. The check-in time will be around 14:00-15:00.
10. Guests can borrow our wooden sleighs for luggage handling within our hotel, should you request the luggage handling service from us, it will be at €9 per person per way, please reserve in advance.
11. The closest airport is the Ivalo Airport which is 35 km away, about 30 minutes drive from Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. Transfer service can be arranged at €26 per person per way, half price for children under 12. Please book in advance with flight number and time.
12. All safaris and activities must be reserved through the hotel, only chartered suppliers are allowed to pick up guests from our hotel. Safaris and activities can be booked also on spot, however we do recommend our guests to book the activities in advance to avoid disappointment on arrival in case our suppliers get fully booked.
How can you arrive in Hotel kakslauttanen from Helsinki?
1. Airplane. take airplane from Helsinki to Ivalo, then take the bus or taxi from Ivalo airport to to Hotel Kakslauttanen. Hotel shuttle bus please book in advance with flight number and time
2. Train+bus. take the train from Helsinki to Rovaniemi, then take the bus from Rovaniemi to Kakslauttanen in the morning. Bus stop is very close to the hotel. You can find the bus timetable on this website. https://www.matkahuolto.fi/en/

極光屋的床睡起來非常舒服，第二天起床神清氣爽，享用美好的早餐，經理帶我們逛了也是渡假村內相當熱門的木屋區，他們有兩種不同大小的房型。
度假木屋裡的主臥室，房間氣氛柔和，整體設計簡單氣派。
兩張單人床，可供朋友或小孩睡覺的地方，房內也是有自己的書桌。
最棒的就是住木屋的旅客還有屬於自己的桑拿室，不用跑到公用區和別人擠。
這裡還有自己的廚房和用餐區，無論夏天或冬天都是家庭出遊的好選擇。
客廳的舒適區域，大家都很喜歡這個設計，可以瞧見燈飾是由鹿角設計而成的，都是老闆的巧思。
超有fu的壁爐，感覺來北歐就是屋子裡要燒火柴取暖啊!

接著經理特意安排午餐後，讓大家跟極光屋的老闆一起開會碰面。所有人非常引頸期盼這一刻的到來，當初我在赫爾辛基跟經理提案時，聽到當他對老闆的描述，就已經很想會一會傳說中的極光屋老闆廬山真面目。
沒多久老闆就來開會了，他比我想像中的親切又幽默風趣。他帶來今年極光屋的新房型的室內設計平面圖給我們看，並介紹這個房間的特別之處。接著開會討論我們對於極光屋和參觀渡假村兩天一夜有甚麼建議，大家的討論相當熱絡。當天我們都算是從老闆第一手看到這些資料被公布，很榮幸的Una能參與到這場高峰會議。與來自歐俄的高手們和老闆面對面開會和發問，Una也是在場唯一的亞洲人，大概也算是當天的亞洲區宣傳代表吧!
老闆本身是位熱情又有創意的人，我對他建立這個全球著名的極光屋點子非常的好奇。於是第一位發問，請教他當初建立極光屋的絕妙點子從何而來?他回答其實是當年從亞洲住宿客身上發想而來。當時他先建立小木屋，看到來芬蘭的許多亞洲觀光客都全身發抖地半夜站在戶外等著看極光，他看了覺得很不忍。(對歐洲人來說，冬天零下十度以下，算是家常便飯，但對大多數的亞洲人來說，只要零下幾度，就已經是折磨了。)
他想如果能讓這些人不用在冰天雪地裡受寒，就能在室內暖和的看到極光，那該有多好。於是就有了建立極光屋的點子，讓旅客能在天寒地凍裡，仍能透過玻璃看到窗外的極光，最厲害的是還不用站著看，還可以躺著床上等極光和極光。就因為老闆當初關心到觀光客的需求，而設計出更人性化的住宿點子，也才造就了今日極為著名的極光玻璃屋誕生。讓全球的旅客趨之若鶩，在旺季更是一房難求。
我們討論到亞洲人對於極光比歐洲人更有憧憬和一些傳說。我們相信看到極光就會帶來好運，這點我並不否認。(因為並不是每個千里迢迢到拉普拉區的觀光客，都能幸運的看到極光)。然後經理講到日本人相信只要能看到極光那天行房，就有可能懷上兒子。(我只是在想這個真的要算得很精準，是說排卵期還要剛好跟極光出現的時間有碰到。如果是因為這樣中獎生出來的小孩，就算不是懷兒子，也絕對是超級幸運的寶寶啊!)
最後就是老闆發來賓禮的時間，經理安排的真貼心。當大家到會議廳等待時，經理就已經將禮物在桌上準備好。禮物就是當初研討會時，經理展示給我看的極光玻璃屋小模型。這模型下面有開關，就可以讓極光屋發光，這紀念品非常的精緻和有意義。每每看到這個模型，就會令人想起住在這裡的美好和不可思議的回憶。很幸運的，我是第一個從老闆手中拿到這個模型的，真是幸運的快跳起來了。可惜老闆真的很忙，開會完就像一陣旋風走了，大家都大呼可惜沒機會跟老闆合照。

最後Una當然要來講這場會議的重點，可以說是在討論今年最新房型的發表會。當初我們在開會的時候，此房型還在建造，今年11月就會開放讓賓客入住，現在已經可以開始訂房囉!

此房型將會是此渡假村最頂級的房型，老闆巧妙的結合了小木屋的寬敞舒適和世界著名玻璃屋房型的優點。玻璃屋最特別的地方是能隔著玻璃看極光，但空間較小；小木屋空間雖大，卻無法隔著屋頂看極光。此房型卻能享受兩種不同型態的住宿，而且擁有更大的空間。

他們的木屋是特別用拉普拉區特有的松木建立，此房型僅有17間，最多可以入住6位，裡面還有個人的桑拿、壁爐、廚房可以供住宿客享用。
訂房攻略
每年在芬蘭看極光最好時間為12月到3月。Una強烈建議如果想省錢又想體驗這輩子奢華夢幻入住的人，可以選擇在1.10-1.30的淡季時段訂房。這樣兩晚住下來，兩人以上可省下不少錢，又非常有機會看到極光，也留下這輩子難忘的美好回憶。
旺季時段比較難訂房，請大家提早訂房。除了聖誕節、跨年外，中國新年也是非常熱門的訂房時段，很多祖孫三代或一家人會挑這個時段一起來這裡過不一樣的中國新年。
如果想給孩子或自己一個永生難忘的聖誕節，可以選擇聖誕節三日套裝組。不但能拜訪聖誕老公公的家，聖誕老公公還會親手送禮物給你，還會帶你逛聖誕老公公家裡，陪你聊天，然後還可以用自己的相機拍好幾張照片。可以圓了自己和小孩的夢想，非常值得。
訂房前該注意的事項：
1.只接受至少2晚的預約。
2.房價只有包括早餐，晚餐是強制性付費(晚餐也會因為入住日期價錢不同，所以訂房時，請記得把晚餐的價錢也一起算進去!)
3.每日清潔費不包括在房費，可安排清理但需額外收費，每人每晚的清理費用為13歐元，並須提前預約。
4.附設桑拿，淋浴廁所和壁爐，房內會有3-5根木柴供使用，如果需要額外使用，需要去櫃檯前購買和自行領取，一箱木材13歐。
5.聖誕節期間的套餐訂房，於2015年12月23到2015年12月26日。這是三晚的套餐行程，包括從Ivalo機場來回接送，三晚停留在同一間房間，兩天的早餐和晚餐，還有聖誕節的特殊節目，聖誕節前夕可以享用自助晚餐並拜訪聖誕老公公的家裡。
6. 如果訂房超過7晚或以上，可享有特殊優惠，詳細資訊請直接跟飯店洽詢。
7.若有特殊需求，可將房內的兩張單人床，改成雙人床。
8.請不要觸摸玻璃、潑水或朝玻璃屋頂丟東西。
9.如果要換房的話，退房時間為早上10:00，入住登記時間約為下午2:00-3:00。
10.可以免費跟飯店借用木製雪撬搬運行李，若需要行李搬運服務為每人9歐元，請提前預約。
11. 最近的機場是伊瓦洛機場，35公里，距北極Kakslauttanen酒店度假村約30分鐘車程。接送服務，可以安排為每人26歐元， 12歲以下兒童為一半的價格，請提前預約，並附上航機班次和時間。
12.所有的雪撬和活動都必須透過飯店預定，只有包車供應商被允許從飯店接送客人。雪橇和活動也可以到了現在再預定，但強烈建議提前預訂，以免向隅。

交通方式
飛機: 可以搭Norwegian Air由赫爾辛基(Helsinki) 飛Ivalo，再由Ivalo機場去Hotel Kakslauttanen。
火車+巴士: 赫爾辛基(Helsinki) 搭火車到羅馬涅米(Rovaniemi)，再從羅馬涅米(Rovaniemi)搭早上的巴士到卡克斯勞達寧(kakslauttanen)。可利用網站查詢巴士班次和車程時間。夏天沒有下雪，所以車程會比較短，約2個多小時即可到達，冬天約3-4小時。
